Coastal racing does NOT promote any specific make of motorcycle. We like
to concentrate on getting riders together for combined training and possibly the
sharing of funds that will be sourced for Coastal Racing Members.
The main aim of coastal racing is to promote fair competition and true
sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship
Expectation of Riders
Riders are expected to conduct themselves in a manner
that meets the highest standards at all times.
Sportsmanship is a lifestyle, adhere to the core values
of respect, responsibility, caring, fairness, trust/worthiness, and good
citizenship
Good sportsmanship and proper behavior are behaviors
that are learned by engaging with others, modeling good behavior and by planned
instruction.
These expectations embody a total lifestyle approach
with emphasis on respect for self, others, and property; loyalty to self,
teammates, coaches, and school; support for the ideas of true sportsmanship; and
the ability to accept the consequences for all choices.
Expectation of Trainers
•Encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating support for all sportsmen,
coaches and officials at all games, practices, and other events.
•Place the emotional and physical well being of riders ahead of a personal
desire to win.
•Treat each rider as an individual and provide a safe environment for all
players.
•Teach riders to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts with civility and
without resorting to hostility or violence.
•Be knowledgeable in the rules of the sport and teach the rules to riders.
•Ensure that the sport is enjoyable for riders .
•Treat everyone with respect and be a positive role
model for players and not engage in unsportsmanlike conduct with any official,
coach, player, parent, or spectator.
•Demand a drug, tobacco, and alcohol-free sports environment
•Establish open lines of communication with riders so that everyone
understand the expectations and can express concerns.
Trainers are also expected to communicate to athletes
and parents their coaching philosophy, expectations for all team members,
locations and times of practices and contests, team rules and requirements,
emergency procedures, and the consequences for violation of rules.

 | | When all the Namibian Moto Cross riders had prepared their bikes for the soft sand and altitude of the capital of the east - Gobabis that is - out of the blue the info was received that on the same weekend a major soccer competition is to take place in Gobabis. Since no accommodation was available this motorsport-event had to get cancelled.

 | | While the preparations for the 10th anniversary of the "Inter-Series" at the Gallina Moto Cross Park-Windhoek are in full swing, one more race for the Namibian Moto Cross Championships takes place on the 16th of September in Gobabis. The riders can test their bikes and demonstrate their physical fitness, before one meets again for another Chammpionship race on September 30 at Swakopmund.
For years now, the driving force behind the event in Gobabis is Wikus Engelbrecht, who, together with his men from the GMCC, always makes a wonderful racing day happen. Without exagerating: This track in Gobabis offers unequalled track and soil conditions in the whole of southern Africa, due to its unique coposition of the soil. This Championships race will be sponsored by "Big Five Central Hotel".
